History

My name is Yolanda Vasquez, I am first generation Dominican-American. I was born and raised in New York, and graduated from St. John’s University. My bachelor’s degree was just the beginning of my education, I realized that I wanted to pursue a bigger purpose, but I wasn’t sure what it would be.

I found my passion, unbeknownst to me I was following in my grandmother’s footsteps, who was a spiritual healer. Growing up I often witnessed her making healing remedies for many people, little did I know that my life would evolve into a career in the healing arts.

Then, I simply started doing bodywork on my family whenever anyone complained about pain, I just intuitively knew what to do, and during our family vacations, everyone would say I just had a gift. Somewhere along the line, someone suggested I go back to school for massage therapy, and I did.

I believe we have within us the innate capacity to heal; Both physically, and mentally. Since my massage license, I knew there was so much more to learn, my teachers suggested I continue my schooling and go back for my acupuncture license.

There was a knowing that I can heal more than what presented on a physical plain. This took me through my own healing journey, I had no idea that through my own pain and suffering I’d carry that strength into my practice.

As a practitioner, It has allowed me to empathize with the suffering of my patient. Acupuncture allows me to be the vessel that shifts the energy causing the negative effects of stress and anxiety. At times we are not aware pain can be the result of unresolved trauma.
